12 Tips On How To Avoid Violating Google Adsense’s Terms Of Service.
For internet newbies who have not heard about or joined Google Adsense, it’s high time you started paying attention.
Google’s Adsense program is the “Santa Claus” of the internet, granting monetary gifts and changing the lives of millions of internet marketers out there.
And in my opinion, possibly one of the most brilliant win-win marketing programs ever thought of, benefiting both the publisher and the advertiser.
Most internet marketers joined the Google Adsense program in a bid to earn online profits, some for pocket change while others for serious money.
Some of the more intensive internet marketers I know of work very hard daily to optimize their websites for higher traffic and Adsense conversions.
If you are really serious about learning a living online through Google Adsense, then it is imperative that you take some time to carefully read through Google Adsense Terms of Service (TOS) again and again until you know it like the back of your hand.
In life, there is no game without its own set of rules, and in order to play the Google Adsense game safely, you got to adhere by Google’s rules or risk being punished severely.
In fact, there are quite a number of web publishers who fail to adhere to Google’s TOS and got themselves banned from participating in the program, period.
And if your livelihood depends on it, I’m pretty sure you don’t wish to be “Slapped” with a ban from the ultimate money making program, do you?
Here are some tips that every internet marketer should look out for if you are serious about making a living through Google Adsense.
1. Clicking On Your Own Ads.
This is perhaps the most common reason why many publishers get banned.
Don’t try to test Google’s enigmatic algorithm system or the ultimate loser will definitely be you.
Some marketers accidentally click on their own Ads and if this happens, write to Google immediately begging to be reconsidered.
2. “Call To Action” Ads.
Google absolutely bans Ads that writes suggestive texts like “Please click here” or “Visit these Links” etc.
They encourage writing compelling statements that actually encourage users to click on the Ads to find out more information instead of suggestive ones.
3. Manipulation Of Ad’s Color & Format.
Modifying any parts of Google Ads so that it seems to blend seamlessly with your website’s color scheme, making the Ads appear to be part of your content and be mistakenly clicked upon is again prohibited.
Likewise, do not blend Google Ads with images to lure someone to click as well.
“Flashing” borders or animated “Arrows” are common examples where visitors are more prone to click on the Ads for the sake of attractiveness rather than relevance.
4. Having Too Many Adsense Modules In A Single Page.
The maximum module allowed per page is topped off at 3 Ad units, 3 Ad links unit & 2 Search-Boxes, nothing more than that.
5. Content To Ads Ratio.
Google is all about providing unique content to its users.
You cannot put purely Ads on the landing page with no content otherwise Google will surely ban you for this.
It doesn’t like it when you have more Ads than content on your web site! Also, don’t put all your keywords in one place on your web page as well, they hate that too.
6. Word Of Mouth.
Don’t ask your family members, relatives or colleges to click your Ads through word of mouth or otherwise.
Even asking friends from distance countries to click on your Ads will leave a traceable “Footprint” that will be picked up by Google using IP tracking and they will slap a ban on your site.
7. Having More Than One Adsense Account.
Google does not allow you to open more than 1 Adsense account under the same payee name, period.
8. Do Not Disclose Your Adsense Secrets.
It is forbidden for publishers to show off their CTR and page impressions which may disclose the amount of income generated.
Google wants your Adsense secrets to remain your secret.
9. Joining Click Farms Which You Pay For Them To Generate Clicks On Your Ads.
This is advertisers’ ultimate nightmare and considered by Google as day light robbery.
Don’t participate in paid surfing programs with a web site running Google Ads or risk getting your site banned.
A definite No-No and highly prohibited.
10. Creating A Web Site Just Solely To Show Google Ads.
A pre-requisite of the Adsense program is that you must have a site that provides unique content.
Don’t buy off the shelf Adsense Templates that direct users to related content through clicking Ads.
Again, you are simply not allowed to run Google Ads on web pages that have no content at all, simple as that.
11. Email Marketing
Sending your Adsense Ads through email is again another No-No in Google’s book.
You are not allowed to attach Google Ads in your follow up emails or newsletters, Google doesn’t allow it.
12. Misuse Of Pop Up & Pop Under
Do not be a smart aleck and embed your Adsense codes into a Pop Up or Pop Under Ads where the visitor is enticed into clicking.
This method of getting higher click through rates is strictly forbidden.
No matter what short cuts or tricks you think can help you increase Adsense conversion, don’t try it as Google’s algorithm probably has it covered.
Nothing attracts more visitors to your site than unique content.
Remember, Google’s Adsense is the ultimate money making program out there, so do not bite the hand that feeds you.
