Dominate Adwords Using This Simple 5 Step Adwords Guide ( Part 3 of 5 )
In the third installment of our Adwords Guide , we will focus in more detail, the creation of eye grabbing Adwords ads that catches the immediate attention of your audience.
Most first time Adwords publishers might assume that this should be the easiest part of the entire Adwords campaign. But you are seriously wrong if you think that way.
Having good Advertisement Copy Writing Skills is essential if you were to have a successful Adwords campaign.
In fact, it is really tedious work as it requires a lot of thought, testing and tracking.
I have read and researched many copy writing e-books and techniques, and although different master ad copywriters might preach different techniques, but they all seem to agree that the following 2 methodologies are crucial to having a successful Adwords campaign.
(1) Using Your Primary Keywords At Least Once In Your Ad :
For maximum effectiveness, it is essential you use the Exact Primary Keyword you are bidding on at least once if not twice in the Adwords ad as it will have the following benefits :
(a) Double High-lit and increase the attention of the searcher.
(b) Increase your Click Through Rate (CTR) of the ad.
(c) Improve your "Quality Score" with Google.
(d) Lower your Cost Per Click (CTC).
A interesting pointer i picked up from some of the Adwords gurus is that quite a few of them like to add in special symbols like the "TM" ; "©" ; "® " etc on the Ad title to create additional awareness.
Take for example :

Don’ t that additional little icon grab your attention a little bit more? Well, it seems to work like a charm for my ads.
(2) Split Testing Your Ads & Tracking Conversions :
Split testing is another essential element that impacts on the success of your Adwords campaign.
From experience, i have noticed that the smallest amendments to my ads can result in significant effect on the Click Through Rates (CTR) as well as Sales Conversions .
Remember to make sure that you always have at least 2 Adwords ads running per ad group for the sole purpose of split testing.
Allow each ad to accumulate around 30 to 50 clicks, and you should be able to determine which one performs better.
Delete the losing ad and try to create a new and better ad to beat the winner.
A point to note here is that most Adwords publisher focus mainly on the results of the Click Through Rate (CTR) instead of the Sales Conversion Rate.
This is a major mistake in my books. Do not forget that we are in the game of making sales not achieving the highest CTRs.
What good is an ad that has a high CTR but few conversions. Some of my ads have lower CTR but higher conversions and these are the "Real" winners in my arsenal.
That is why we must always be vigilant when tracking our CTR and sales conversion rates.
I use a FREE Tool called Split Tester that is created by one of my favourite Adwords Guru Perry Marshall in testing which of my ads converts the best. Try it, it’s totally FREE.
In my next post, i will be focusing on the creation of an effective Land Page to compliment the attention grabbing ads we created, so stay tuned.
