Make Internet Forum Marketing Your Friend & Tool To Online Success

Internet forum marketing is a great way of marketing your online business if you know the rules of the game.
Marketing on forums is basically showing your expertise and building your very own branding and reputation in your online niche.
Some internet marketers reckon it is the equivalent of stepping on a financial land-mine.
It does exactly that if you do it the correctly with the right tools and strategies.
But if done wrongly, it tarnishes your reputation as an both an expert in your niche as well as an internet marketer in general, exposing your lack of expertise and experience.
Once you have decided that Internet Forum Marketing is the way to go, always begin by doing your forum marketing research.
For starters, spend some time to go through each individual forum’s rules and regulations.
Remember, every forum’s rules are different.
Some forums have taboo topics banned for discussion, some allow direct advertising while others don’t.
Firstly, the golden ruleĀ to a successful forum marketing endeavor is always to learn the rules of the game in internet forum marketing.
Not following the rules will make most definitely get you banned in the forums.
Secondly, even if advertising is allowed in some forums, you should never start the ball rolling by immediately advertising your online business through your posts or comments.
Always rely on your author’s signature to promote yourself and your online businesses.
Before you start actual postings, remember always to go through the contents of the forum thoroughly at least once or twice to get the “feel” of the forum.
By reading the forum postings, you will have a good idea about what the forum is all about, the likes and dislikes of its forum members and then be able to come out with best way to approach it.
If you try to barge in without due diligence, it will have a negative impact within the forum and that is one major land mine you would surely want to avoid.
Do take note that most forums are not just jammed packed with newbies, the best known brains in the online marketing industry are also posting in these forums.
So, before you post something on a given topic or try to comment on a post, make sure you have the necessary expertise to back that up.
If you do not have the necessary knowledge and shoot from the hip, then at best you will be ignored by other forum members.
But in the worst possible scenario, the forum master or more established forum marketers will call you to task and that will ruin surely damage your reputation.
Thirdly, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong in creating a little controversy in these forums, just be sure you have the facts to back things up if the going gets tough.
I sometimes acquire some of my best and most successful business ideas from such forum topics which have created some form of arguments within the ranks.
Beware, this is entirely different than from just making things up to attract attention.
Only comment when you can help someone with a problem, otherwise keep num and just read what others have to say.
As i always preach, the ultimate goal of forums is help others with similar problems.
If you can provide fellow forum members with a viable solution, then go for it.
No mater “Good” or “Bad”, the reputation you create in the forums will be synonymous with you through out your online career and internet marketing, so try to make Internet Forum Marketing your best friend and tool on your way to achieving online success.

You have to be very careful with forum marketing. For the first few posts and days, I don’t put any signature. What I do is build my reputation first. And yes, never advertise anything immediately, members will definitely think and report you as spammer!

Hi Anthony,
You are right to say that with Forum Marketing, “Extra Care” has to be considered, otherwise your online reputation will be ruined.
Likewise, i use forum marketing as a tool for self-branding rather than to advertise for anything.
It takes great time and effort to gain online credibility and i certainly would not want to be branded a spammer.
