In the fourth installment of our Adwords Guide , we will touch on the topic of creating Landing Pages that matches the Exact Keywords that our Text Ads are targeting.

But before we dive head first into the topic on hand, i would like to high-lite the fact although some affiliates adore using the "Direct Linking" strategy, this may not always be the best option in my book.

In case you are not familiar with this method, in a nutshell, it is where the visitor upon clicking on the Google Text Ad will be directly directed to the Sales page of the affiliate product.

In my opinion, this form of "Direct Linking" method is only effective and feasible for certain affiliate products only.

And these affiliate products are what i commonly refer as "One Off" products where there are not much room for any "Follow Up" or "Back End" marketing.

An example would be in the "Wedding" niche, if you are to promote some affiliate product like Wedding Speeches, the "Direct Linking" strategy would work well.

Logically speaking, marriages should be a once in a life time event right?

There is no point having a Landing Page With an Opt-In option to build up a subscribers list.

What would you promote to them? Divorce Tips & Strategies? Tips To Look Out for In Your Second Marriage? Not logical right?

Ok, enough sidetracking, back to creating  effective Landing Pages that gets conversion.

With most niches, creating an Landing Page with an Opt-In option is an absolute must!

Do not simply sent traffic you have paid money for directly to affiliate product’s sites.

Remember this, the main aim is to build your own business, not help build someone else business.

Unfortunately, Google has not made life easy for affiliate marketers like us, constantly increasing the standards and slapping massive bans on site that do not have a quality Landing Page.

However, there are a couple of tricks that i discovered that seem to get into Google’s "Good Books" if done correctly.

(1) Create A Proper Website Not Just A Simple Opt-In Page :

Despite claims from ads and reports that you don’t need a website to make money online, this may not be applicable if you seriously want to use Adwords to build up your online business.

If you have not got a proper website, i suggest you go register a domain name and get a good web hosting company.

Having a proper home page with attributes like a "About Me", "Contact", "Disclaimer", "Privacy Statement", "Terms & Conditions" etc. both on the Top & Bottom Sections of your page are essential for effective Google indexing.

When your website is spidered by Google’s Adwords system, it will automatically recognize your site as a valid and proper one which will help improve your Quality Score and lower your Adwords bid prices.

(2) Matching Your Landing Page Headline With The Keywords & Ads You Are Targeting :

This is probably one of the easiest and most effective way to optimize your Adwords campaign.

Simply match the exact keyword you are targeting in both your Adwords Ads and in the headline of your Landing Page.

Take For Example :

(a) Target Keyword :

"Adwords Guide".

(b) Adword Advertisement :

By doing so, you will not only increase the Quality Score with Google, but will almost be guaranteed that your Landing Page will be definitely be read as the keywords used are targeted around what people are actually looking for in the first place.

And this dramatically increases your chances of making a sales provided the affiliate product you are promoting is not some hyped up crap.

(3) Linking To Relevant Content :

The age old rule of "Content Is King" applies here.

Whenever you set up a proper landing page for a new campaign, always write at least 4 to 5 original articles that are jam packed with major keywords that you are targeting and link it to your landing page.

Remember, the articles written must be original, relevant and highly focused on the topic on hand, simply copying and linking to similarly themed articles you pulled out of some ezine directories will never achieve the desirable effects.

Place the well researched and written articles under your domain for that particular campaign and link the articles using Varied Anchor Texts from the bottom of your Landing Page.

Some gurus even advise going the extra distance and create a different opt-in page for each set of keyword that you are bidding on and also changing the anchor texts of the links accordingly.

Another good linking strategy is to try to link out from your Landing Page to relevant pages within Authority Sites.

In other words, try to link to sites that Google deem as more important.

For example, authority sites that have Higher Page Rank (PRs) or sites that end with .gov or .edu.

Hope you can put these tips to good use and with that we end part four of our Adwords Guide.
