Tips To Optimize Your Adwords Campaign For Online Success

If you are serious about using Google Adwords as an advertisement and traffic tool for your online business, which in my opinion should be the case, then you must make sure your adwords campaigns are well optimized to get the most out of your advertising dollar.
For first time adwords users, it is highly recommended that you visit Google’s Adwords Learning Center to understand and get a feel of what Adwords pay per click internet advertising is all about.
I believe that irregardless whether you are an seasoned Adwords advertiser or an internet newbie, the free training lessons and tools at the Adwords learning center can still help sharpen your Adwords PPC knowledge and propel you to achieve greater levels of online success.
But if you want a summarized adwords information version, here’s some of my Adwords Optimization Tips.
(1) Create Tightly Knitted Ad Groups With Highly Focused Keywords.
Create different variations of ad groups and landing pages specific to a particular set of themed keywords.
Avoid creating sloppy ad groups with hundreds of unfocused keywords you plucked out of nowhere.
Always think like the user, try to group common desires and mindsets so as to achieve better results.
To get the necessary keywords for your ad campaigns, you can make use of Google’s Free External Keyword tool.
Or if you are a tech-geek like myself, and want to get more specific keyword research data, a good keyword research software like Keyword Elite is a must have companion.
Keyword research software in my book, is an indispensable tool for all online businesses.
(2) Rewrite Your Ads For Under-Performing Keywords.
If one of your highly focused keywords in a certain ad group is getting a significantly lower click through rates (CTR) than the rest.
Then is advisable to move it to its own ad group and totally rewrite the ads, preferably with that particular keyword in the headline or in the URL for greater visibility.
(3) Accumulate Enough Data For Split Testing.
Build ad groups with just enough traffic to split test and determine which are more successful.
The key here is to be able to split test in a timely fashion and not wait till wait too long to declare a winner.
Usually a week’s data is enough to see which ads are performing than the other.
You can make use of split tester for this purpose, it is totally Free.
(4) Decrease Your CPC Costs By Using Long Tail Keywords.
You can’t imagine how many users only focus on “Hot” main stream keywords that millions of internet marketers are bidding on, what’s up with that?
Doesn’t anyone realize that using long tail keywords have the distinct advantage of less competition, less CPC and more traffic in the long run?
Three and four word phrases tend to be the specific key phrases that represent serious buyers rather than lookers, so make the best out of it.
(5) Distinguish And Determine How Your Adwords Ads Appear On Google’s Network.
Always ensure your traffic streams from Google Search Engine Results, Search Partners, and Content Networks traffic are separated into different groups and campaigns.
This is to allow more specific tracking from each of the individual traffic streams so that you can optimize your sales funnel for each group.
(6) Focus Your Efforts On Changes That Makes The Largest Impact On Your Bottom-line.
Before managing and optimizing your adwords campaigns, always sort your campaigns, ad groups and keyword lists by impressions and popularity.
Focus first on the adwords campaigns that gets you the most traffic, streamline and optimize it so that the improvements made will lead to increased traffic or more qualified visitor flow.
Once that is optimized, you can then follow up on those campaigns that are acheiveing less ROIs for your campaigns.
That’s probably sums it up for now. These are my 2 cents worth of tips that i personally use to optimize my adwords campaigns, hope they are of help in your quest to achieve online success using Google Adwords.
